Updates and changes...

To be honest, I was going to just come in here and post "Updated discography pages and the concert schedule", then go to bed... then I came face-to-face with Drea and started to cry.

Less than two weeks after that last entry, on June 23rd, our little Drea-monster developed an abcess and died during surgery. We all really miss that bunny. She was quite a character - willful and onery as heck, but she just had a way of working her way into everyone's heart. I think Dan, Mr. No-way-are-we-going-to-have-a-rabbit, took it harder than anyone when she died.

We've since had a couple other rabbits enter our home and family, adopted from the local shelter. When we decided we were going to adopt a rabbit, we knew we wouldn't be replacing Drea - there's no way we could - so our only requirement was that they had to be able to handle our three cats. When we were looking, we were surprised to find they had several bonded pairs there as well as single rabbits. We had talked about maybe getting a friend for Drea before she got sick, so it didn't take much convincing for us to decide on not one but two bunnies!
Meet Misty and Jupiter.
You can't tell it in this picture Misty is quite a bit larger than Jupiter. Misty is the dusky-brown one with the longer ears nearest the hay. The kids refer to her as "dust bunny" because of color. She's the more adventerous one and very intelligent. We thought we'd had the house bunny proofed before we brought them home, but she keeps showing us all the little areas we missed. It's a fun challenge trying to stay a couple steps ahead of her. ^-^
Jupiter - I call him "Jupi" - is smaller and a bit shy. It took a couple days before he would open up to us much, but he's starting to come around and be more active now. He's more of a tan color with a bit of a white under-coat, but he really is different from Misty in more than just color. His body is smaller, but his legs are longer making him very agile. He jumps and climbs all over the place. His favorite hidey-hole is on top of a drawer unit we keep under the table we keep the guinea-pig's condo on in the living room. The space is hardly 4 inches tall, but he hops up and scrunches himself in there with his chin hanging slighly over the edge. I can't help but laugh when I see it!
Considering the heat wave that started just after they moved in, the two of them seem to be adjusting pretty well. A lot of our focus this last week has been on just trying to keep everyone cool, hydrated, and healthy in this heat. It's put a little bit of a crimp on the bunnies exploring their new home. Everyone's mainly only been active at night after things have cooled down a bit, and even then they haven't tried to explore much beyond the living room. Today's high was only (only!?) in the low 90s. I'm hoping that's a sign the heat wave is finally starting to die down. Once temperatures return to normal and we can all settle into our regular routine, I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more of their personalities come to light.
Anyhow, I've got more pictures of the rabbits (and the cats and guinea-pig) that aren't on my computer yet that I'll probably upload to my Facebook profile sometime this weekend. Yea, I finally broke down and got a Facebook account after searching for an old friend and finding him there. Then a friend from work got me hooked on the Hatchlings game... which I'll play tomorrow - after I update the Japanese version of my diary. Too tired for anything else tonight.

Drea's enjoying the early summer too!

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned before that we have a rabbit. She's a doe-grey mini-lop named Queen Andrea Lea Cleopatra's Foot. Blame my girls for that wild name - we just call her "Drea".

Say "Hello", Drea.

She's been really active since the warm weather started: hopping around the house, climbing up on the furniture, jumping on people's laps - and of course her favorite activity, tormenting the cats. She's also taken to coming up to us a lot to see what we have and to ask for treats.

The other day, after we finished barbequing, we made some s'mores (those little graham cracker, marshmallow, and chocolate treats). Now, we do not feed such things to the rabbit. They are not good for her and would make her sick. That doesn't stop her from trying though!

She was not taking "no" for an answer that night. She literally jumped up on my husband's lap and tried to steal a piece right out of his mouth!

Crazy bunny!

Anyhow, I've updated my site a bit this morning, adding to the discography and news pages.

Both JAM Project, and Fukuyama-san himself, keep coming up with new ways to make me absolutely broke. Tuesday, I ordered a couple Macross music song books. There's a JAM Project one coming out too. The bookstore (Kinokuniya in Seattle) told me I need to wait till it comes out to order that one because it wasn't showing up in their system yet. So, next week I'll be up there again to order it...

The cover picture for Fukuyama-san's upcoming mini-album is on his site now! It's a really cool black and white image of Fukuyama-san sitting at a piano in a recording studio! I'm really looking forward to it!

Till next time... peace.

Having fun enjoying the early summer ^-^

Four of us went to Bradley Lake Park in Puyallup for a WAVA school get-together on Thursday. It was good clean park with a nice trail that wound around the lake. Here in this pic, Kirk and his two youngest sisters, Victoria and Mary, are sitting on an interesting tree that Victoria found while we were walking.

Mary had to stop at every single dog we passed.
We did a lot of stopping!

Last night, all of us except Teresa went to a Drive-in movie for the first time in several years. (Teresa didn't want to go and we didn't want to hear her whine about it.) Becca says that next time we go we are taking the car with the higher ceiling - but we had fun anyhow. ^^b We saw a double feature of Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian and the new Wolverine movie. Ate lots of junk food in Dan's car...

Anyhow, updates to my site today: added to the concert schedule page and finally, after many months, added a song translation ("innerchild ~tally of myself~" from the Fujin Double Cast album). I'm currently working on another song off the same album ("yuki toke") and hope to have the time to finish it on Wednesday.

Oh, I also finally made a Facebook account. I'm not out to collect massive "friends" just for the sake of doing so - but if you do want to contact me, I go by my own name (as usual), so I should be pretty easy to find...

Time to get ready for work now. See ya later!

Updates... I'll catch up eventually

Happy New Year, everyone ^-^

I updated the concert schedule page last month and forgot to tell you. Did anyone see it? Today, I updated the concert schedule page again. Huge update this time! Fukuyama-san is booked out way into the middle of June already!

It looks like JAM Project's next DVD just might be "Live at Budokan"! When I think Budokan, I think of all those live albums by stadium rock musicians like Queen or Led Zepplin. That's a big name venue!

JAM Project will be performing at the 14,000 seat Tokyo Budokan on June 12, 2009. Wow!
